Introduction
Tabor Ashram is a retreat and prayer center under the Mary Matha Province of the Vincentian Congregation, doing the ministry of evangelization to spread the Kingdom of God. This center is run by the Priests of the Vincentian Congregation with the help of Rev. Priests and Rev. Sisters from different Religious Congregations and the lay people. The ministries in Tabor Ashram are for all people irrespective of cast, creed and religion.
People from different walks of life irrespective of caste, creed and religion participate in the prayer services at Tabor and abandon their sinful ways and accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Several miracles including healing from fatal diseases are taking place when people attend the prayer services in Tabor.
A Brief History........
Tabor Divine Retreat Ashram was inaugurated on October 7, 1993 when out of his generosity Mr. C. C. Antony donated three acres of land at Kamba village for Gospel Ministry in 1992. Tabor is a branch of the Divine retreat centre,Muringoor famously knon as the Potta Retreat Center.
Rev.Fr. Antony Kolenchery was appointed as the first Director of this center while Fr. John Kodiankunnel was the Finance Officer. At the beginning the retreat centre offered residential retreats from Sunday to Thursday, special services on all first Fridays, healing services and preaching the Word of God on all Saturdays and Sundays.
In 1996, Rev.Fr. Mathew Elavumkal VC, took over as the Director of Tabor Ashram equipped with the wealth of gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. He served Tabor for 11 years givng the retreat centre a face lift.
In July 2007, Rev.Fr Joshi Kochukudiyattil VC, has taken over as the Director of the Ashram. To support him we have Rev.Fr.Johnson Enthumkuzhiyill VC., Fr.Joby Kachappilly VC & Fr.Joseph Edattu VC.
Rev. Fathers and Sisters from different Religious Congregations and dioceses, lay people from various linguistic groups form the Tabor team.
Tabor Bhavan
God has blessed us to have a new Residential Retreat Centre (TABOR BHAVAN) around 10 acres of land (about 4 kms.) away from Tabor Ashram. It is situated at Raite Village, which is on the way to Murbad. The weekly residential retreats are now conducted at Tabor Bhavan.
Our Publications
Tabor Ashram publishes a bi-monthly called Tabor Voice in English, Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam and Tamil regularly. Tabor Ashram has published many devotional audio cassettes, Prayer Books etc |
